Nestled in the picturesque village of Ingleby Greenhow, The Dudley Arms stands out as a culinary gem in the heart of North Yorkshire. Visitors rave about its consistent quality and friendly atmosphere, with many returning after years, like Martin Titchmarsh, who praised the delightful Crispy Flowering Onion and the delectable Petite Chicken Parmo and Chargrilled Tomapork. The restaurant's charm is amplified by its welcoming staff, as noted by Leo Croft, who described it as a "lovely country restaurant" with reasonable prices.
For those seeking a sweet respite, Amy Shepherd's review of the afternoon tea at Café 1756 is equally compelling. Featuring a generous assortment of scones and exquisite cakes, it's no surprise that this venue has become a local favorite for indulgent treats. Julie Smith's experience with the melt-in-your-mouth steak Diane and impressive mussels echoes a common sentiment: the food's standard here is astonishing.
In short, The Dudley Arms is more than a restaurant; it’s a cherished local establishment where exceptional food and warm hospitality converge. The buzz surrounding its dishes, from innovative appetizers to comforting classics, leaves a lasting impression, making it a must-visit on your culinary journey.

Haven't visited the Dudley Arms for several years, but can say that the quality of food and service have certainly not changed... still excellent and will not be waiting so long before a return! The Crispy Flowering Onion is just lovely, it is so well presented and tastes lovely... I can recommend it (and it's one to have on future visits too). We also had a Petite Chicken Parmo and a Chargrilled Tomapork, both delicious. Definitely worth a visit and can recommend.

Called in to Cafe 1756 for an early Mother's Day Afternoon Tea. One of the best Afternoon Teas I've had. Very much Yorkshire portions, excellent array of cakes, 2 types of scones, surprisingly tasty fresh strawberries and raspberries for March. Great sausage rolls. Definitely one of the places to go locally for Aft Tea.

Lovely country restaurant just on the outskirts of Great Ayton. Fantastic high quality food. Reasonable prices. Friendly and welcoming staff and atmosphere. The road in is a typical narrow country road with bumps and no lighting so be careful if driving here during dark. Otherwise a fantastic venue!

I have not been for over 10 years but the food is always excellent. My goodness the mussels were amazing and I had the steak Diane... the fillet steak was like butter it melted in your mouth. The fish was pan fried and tender. The standard of food here is unbelievable... absolutely beautiful worth a visit anytime of year.

May 2025 We have visited here twice in the last couple of days, not to eat in, but to collect a buffet prepared for my work colleagues. The staff here are amazing, very helpful and catered for our exact needs. We had a buffet for 75 Construction workers and office staff. The multi nationals from all corners of the planet were all catered for very well, the vegetarians and vegans thought the food was lovely. I had one item of everything on savoury menu and everything was spot on. The plate was heaving like a little mountain. The choices were brilliant and was bespokely crafted. The sweets/cakes were amazing, especially the Millionaire shortbread, which is the best I have ever had eaten. We have also booked a table in the restaurant for next month and we cannot wait to dine in, to celebrate a family birthday. I have always said "This is probably the best place to eat in the Teesside/North Yorkshire area." I stand by that statement. We almost moved to Ingleby Greenhow in 2011, but the move fell through at the final hour. One day we may still move here. The whole place has a great vibe (Indoor and outdoors); and looks great following the refurb since COVID. June 2025 We dined in tonight to enjoy a birthday celebration; and the food was absolutely brilliant. We stopped by on business, and we are so pleased that we did! We enjoyed two drinks, a steak sandwich, and a full Dudley breakfast, and everything was absolutely wonderful. It was clear that each dish was prepared with care and passion. The staff, Rose-Zena, Abbie, Issy, and Lewis, were incredibly helpful, lovely, chatty, and attentive; they went above and beyond! Issy, please don't take up juggling anytime soon , The Dudley won't have any plates left We have discovered a true gem. We look forward to returning!

The food was absolutely amazing. I had the shoulder of lamb dinner and sticky toffee pudding. I could not fault any of it and didn't want to stop eating. The service was great and staff were lovely.

Been going here for over 20 years. Never had a bad meal. Their steaks are fantastic plus the very unique angelique sauce is delicious!
